Pro-lifers Opt for a Healthy Alternative to Race for the Cure
A large group of Mississippi homeschoolers and their parents who run for causes most weekends had signed up for their local upcoming Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The Komen Foundation educates on breast cancer and helps fund research, but also during a one-year period donated more than $700,000 to Planned Parenthood, the biggest abortion-provider and referral operation in the world.
Steve Crampton of the homeschool cross-country running team “The Spartans” learned of the report on OneNewsNow and went into action.
“We asked [the Komen Foundation] for our money back, [and] they agreed to refund us graciously,” he shares. “[But] rather than have a weekend where we didn’t run at all, we decided [to try to] put something together ourselves. So it was pretty much last minute, but what has been birthed here is the ‘Race for the Unborn.'”
