Simple Woman’s Daybook: October 5, 2009
FOR TODAY…October 5th from Jean’s Daybook
Outside my window… dark, cool rainy night…a cold front is coming in.
I am thinking… about stews, soups, and cold weather recipes to prepare.
I am thankful for…the gifts for the Lord has given me to share with others, especially my writing.
I am wearing… soft purple pants and a soft gray top, which are both warm and comfortable.
I am creating …a more organized and attractive kitchen. I’m also tackling the clutter around the house.
I am remembering… what a nice time we had at the lake and at the wedding a couple of weeks ago. It was so good to be with family even though it was only for a weekend. I am also thinking about the wonderful party we attended at Gloria’s and Mike’s house the following weekend and what fun we had this past weekend at the farmer’s market, the garage sales, and the craft show.
I am going… to be very busy this week.
I am reading…Angels and Demons by Peter Kreeft — a fascinating book.
I am hoping… to find a publisher for the book soon.
On my mind…the beauty of autumn.
Noticing that… the mums are looking gorgeous today. We planted dark red and yellow ones this year.
Pondering these words…“A true prophet is one who is willing to suffer for the truth.” I heard this during the EWTN homily today.
From the kitchen…I am smelling what we had for supper tonight: broiled pork chops, fordhook lima beans, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie with vanilla frozen yogurt.
Around the house…the tomatoes are just about finished for the season…hoping for the grapes to do well this year.
One of my favorite things~the smell of wood burning in the fireplace.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Tuesday night we have our Light Weigh meeting, Wednesday night we have RCIA (We’re sponsoring a married couple this year.) chiropractic appointments three times this week, blogging and writing daily, and, of course, daily Mass.
From my picture journal…
